Payments can take several days to process and post to the financial institution, ERP or accounting system.
The 'Grace Period' option allows the system to be setup to add additional days to the promise by date in order to meet the 'promise' date and not be considered a 'broken' promise.
For example, a customer enters a Promise to Pay on Self Service with a date that is 7 days from today. A 'Grace Period' is setup to include an additional 5 days. The pay by date would be 12 days from the activity date for the payment to be received and posted, in order for the 'promise' to be met and not be 'broken'.
To setup a 'Grace Period' for Promise to Pay:
-
Admin Settings & Utilities Site Options - Option tab
-
Options section: update the 'Grace days for Promise to Pay' field
-
This is an integer or whole number and will round if a decimal entered
-
Click Save (top right)
After a promise to pay activity is entered, hovering over the info icon will display the additional days for the Grace Days on the payment tab within the actual section.
