**If your company was/is undergoing the process to get (JAB P-ATO) authorization this year, you are required to deprecate TLS (1.0) and TLS (1.1) as part that authorization process. In an effort to assist with this, we have upgraded our sync to support TLS (1.2). The only new functionality added in this sync upgrade is support for TLS (1.2). If your company was not required to go through the (JAB P-ATO) authorization process, YOU DO NOT NEED to disable TLS (1.0) and TLS (1.1) on your servers, our sync process will continue to support these protocols.**
Future sync updates/fixes will be built on top of this upcoming sync version. This means that you will need to perform this upgrade to receive new updates/fixes to the sync going forward. Below are some basic steps to perform this upgrade by yourself once the upgrade is live. Please note that all syncs are different for each ERP system so your sync may not 100% match the screenshots used below. You can schedule time directly with our support team to get the sync setup if you get stuck during any part of this.
STEP 1 - VERIFY YOUR CURRENT SYNC SETUP:
-
It is recommended to get a screenshot of you current sync setup to make the setup of your new sync as quick and easy as possible. The sync setup will show what SQL Server, Database, and Companies you are set up to pull from alongside the credentials being used to pull that information. If you already know this information, you can skip step 1.
-
Remote into the machine the sync is installed to run on. This can be found in SARA by navigating to the (Admin Settings & Utilities Logs) page then locating the "Machine Name" field under the "Account Sync Sessions" tab.
-
Once you are on the machine, launch the "Anytime Sync Launcher" application.
-
Enter your Anytime Collect credentials into the username and password prompt, then select "Validate User."
-
A list of your current sync setups will appear. Select a sync record (the record will highlight blue when selected) then select "Launch Sync Setup" in the bottom-right-hand corner of the window.
-
A prompt will appear asking you to select "Yes" to run with current configurations, or, to select "No" to reconfigure the process. You want to select "No" since we want to see the configuration setup.
**NOTE: Selecting this option will typically require you to create a new scheduled trigger for your sync. However, you do not need to recreate the trigger during this process since we are removing this sync anyways.** -
Once the sync setup appears, take a screenshot of the entire setup. We will need the SQL Server Name, Database Name, Credentials, and Company IDs being pulled.
Again, the sync setup will look different depending on the ERP system you use.
-
After you have the sync screenshot, close the window and open the "Anytime Sync License" application. This will show your license key and will be needed shortly after you install the new sync. Copy this key to a notepad entry for later use.
-
Now that you have the setup, all you have to do is uninstall the old sync then install the new one. Once you get to the setup screen on the new sync, enter the exact same information from your screenshot into the new sync. The setup should be complete after that.
STEP 2 - UNINSTALL YOUR CURRENT SYNC
-
Once you have verified your sync setup, open the "System Settings" window to uninstall the current sync. This can be found by looking up "Add or Remove Programs" in the Windows search bar.
-
Locate the "Anytime Sync Launcher" application and opt to uninstall it.
-
Windows will uninstall the sync and you will be able to install the new sync after this point.
STEP 3 - INSTALL THE NEW SYNC
-
**At the time of writing this, the sync files are not available yet. The files will be available after (6/19/20). A message will be sent out to all desktop sync users notating that the files are ready alongside a link to download the new files. Once you receive these files, you can continue with step 3. Please contact our support team if you are having difficulties downloading/accessing the files**
-
Once the sync files have been downloaded onto the server, run the Sync Installer. It will notate that it is creating an Anytime Collect folder in both the "C:\Program Files (x86)" folder as well as the "C:\ProgramData" folder. After the installer finishes, it will automatically open the "Anytime Sync License" application and prompt you to enter your license key.
-
If you did not previously save the license key, you can obtain it by logging into the client. Log into Anytime Collect and select the character icon in the upper-right-hand corner of the screen. Once the sub-menu appears, select "Settings."
**If you are on the R3 UI, it will be labeled "My Profile" instead.** -
Under the "Account" tab, you will see your license key listed:
-
Copy and paste this key into the "Anytime Sync License" application, leaving the Service Address and Membership Address fields blank. Select "Save" once you are finished.
-
Once this has been saved, open the "Anytime Sync Launcher" application.
