EDITION: Standard and Enterprise
RESOLUTION
The sync for QuickBooks SQL sync runs in 2 parts:
· QB SQL – the data is pulled from QB to populate into the intermediate QB SQL database (Azure)
· Then the intermediate QB SQL data populates into the SARA database (Azure)
The QuickBooks sync progress window now includes 3 options, including the new purge option:
· Re-initialize – zeros out all balances on all transactions in SARA
· Leave QB Open – will leave QB open after the sync completes
· Purge QB SQL Database – will purge all of the data in the intermediate QB SQL database (this is similar to doing an initial sync, takes the longest, looks at all data again) USE CAUTION WITH THIS OPTION!! Not recommended unless needed. Sync will take much longer to read all data again.
The transactions and data will not be purged from SARA, only from the intermediate QB SQL data, i.e. the transactions will still appear in SARA (for example the Essentia AL data) but the balances will all be zero and will not come back into SARA Lockstep with a balance (because they have been deleted from QB and purged from the intermediate QB SQL database)
After purging your QB SQL Database, the sync will run as though it is the sync for the first time and will take significantly longer because it must go through all data/all transactions open and closed in QB. Because of this, we do not recommend the purge option to be run frequently and only use this as needed (i.e. possibly once per week as we discussed). Also the sync may fail after a purge and if it does, run the sync again until successful and then verify balances.
If the sync fails once or several times after the purge option is selected, please do not re-select the purge option again (unnecessary) and kick off the sync again (or several more times) until you have a successful sync. Then verify balances after the successful sync.
NOTE: sync log will indicate purge attempting at beginning of log - purge is complete when next entry in log is written:
