Activities or Communications can be closed any number of ways in the application. Click here for more info on where to set options for automatically closing activities.
The closing status message is included on the following grids:

Close Status for Activities:
Auto Close Stand Alone: The activity was closed during credit class generation and was a stand-alone action alert that auto-closed based on the criteria on the action alert.
Auto Close Negative: (non-stand-alone): The activity was closed during credit class generation and was a non-stand-alone action alert that closed based on the criteria of the action alert and a higher sequential action alert was generated.
Auto Close Positive (one of the following):

The activity closed during credit class generation and was a non-stand-alone action alert that closed based on the criteria of the action alert and a higher sequential action alert was not generated.

The activity was closed when the sync runs and was based on the "Site Options" setting to auto-close issues & activities:

No Follow-up on activity
-
No Expected Payment
-
No Unread email

The activity was closed when the sync runs based on the "Site Options" for Paid Invoice Override, closing the activities when all tagged invoices have balance = 0

The activity was closed based on the "Site Options" for Expected Payments, closing the activity if the promised payment has been met.
Manual Close Positive: The activity was closed manually by a user by working the activity, clicking the blue communication button to create the next activity, closing the prior or original activity.
Manual Close Negative: The activity was manually closed by the user without working the activity, by either:

Open the activity in "Inquiry" mode and marking the activity as complete then closing the activity.

On (Account Detail > Communication) grid, clicking within the grid to close the issue or activity.

On the (Inquiries > By User > Communication) grid, select one or multiple activities, click the pencil icon to update the selected and marking all selected activities as complete.
No Closed/Unknown: if the activity was previously closed and subsequently re-opened.
