Scheduled Sync does not run - special characters in Sync Description

Description

The sync will run manually but the scheduled sync does not appear to be running and there is not a scheduled task setup after configuring the sync

RESOLUTION

The sync description is used to create the Windows Task Schedule for the sync to run on schedule. If any special characters are used ( / \ : * ? " < > | ) in the Sync Description, the Windows Task Scheduler will not be able to create the task and you will not receive an error.

To verify the Sync Description:

  1. Log in with a user with Admin access

  2. Admin > Setting & Utilities > Sync Setup

  3. Select Edit for the Sync not running on schedule

  4. Review and modify the description to remove any special characters

  5. Select Update to save the changes

  6. Launch Sync Setup to re-reconfigure the sync and scheduled task
